One of the most famous female writers from the first generation of the New Literature movement, Bing Xin touched tender hearts everywhere with her graceful and elegant writings. Throughout her life, she maintained a sense of innocence and motherly love. This episode follows Bing Xin's life chronologically and looks at Bing Xin's various experiences, including her personal involvement in the May Fourth movement, her first tastes of literary success, her admiration for Tagore and her American experience. The episode concludes with a personal interview with the ninety-five year old Bing Xin who, after having seen a century of tumults in her country, reflects with characteristic tenderness, "Now, however, it is better."
